Housing 21 at NCASC
Housing 21 is hosting a fringe session at this year’s National Children and Adults Conference (http://www.local.gov.uk/web/national-children-and-adults-conference-2013/home)
The session, which is entitled Dementia DIY: the power of self-help groups, is being held in Queens Suite 4 of the Harrogate International Centre on Thursday 17 October at 6.15pm.
The session will focus on the innovative peer support scheme which we are running in partnership with the Mental Health Foundation to enable people with dementia living in older people’s housing to develop social networks and stay independent. We will discuss practical ideas for coping with dementia and demonstrate the importance of meaningful activities in maintaining mental wellbeing.
If you are planning on attending this year’s NCASC and would like to attend the fringe session, please let Wendy Gornicki, PR & Information Officer know. firstname.lastname@example.org, Tel. 0370 192 4338.
